It takes a very special woman to be an army wife, and many could not handle the sacrifice and lifestyle that this means. An army wife is often left alone while her husband is on deployment, taking responsibility for raising children, keeping a home, paying the bills, taking care of the yard, and all of the other domestic and daily responsibilities. These women may go months without seeing their spouse and they get by on short phone calls that never seem to come on any reliable schedule. An army wife is frequently asked to move her entire household at the whim of the government in order to be as close to her spouse as possible, and she often lives a chaotic life that is difficult and seems unappreciated by those she is sacrificing for. The silver lining for many army wives is the support offered by others in the same position, and these women help each other through the toughest times when they can not turn to their husband instead.
