It's important to remember that love is not about how much you say 'I love you', but how much you can prove that it's true love. When you're learning about love you pay attentions to all of the feelings that are coursing through your veins. However, the older you get you realize that words only mean so much in the grand scheme of things. When you enter in healthy adult relationships you begin to learn that love is an action word. It is very easy for people in your life to tell you they love you but what do their actions show you? Saying I love you is meaningless if you can't do anything to prove it.

I want you to think about the people that you hold close to you in your life, and see what traits these people have in common. I will almost guarantee you that each one of the people that you hold dear shows you how much they love and appreciate you. We, as humans, are not meant to be alone and we crave companionship. We want to be in loving relationships, but many of the people that we surround ourselves with don't deserve to be there. The minute that you start making excuses for people and accepting lies you lose the proof of love. Where are the actions that show you just how special and important you are? You allow people to treat you how you want to be treated. If you want to be loved in a way that you deserve you need to make sure your friends and family put the effort in to have that relationship. It is never too late to get the type of relationships that you want in your life, but you will have to make hard decisions and leave the bad ones behind.
