Admiration is positive while jealousy is negative. When you admire someone for the right reasons, like honesty, compassion, or integrity, this admiration can help make you a better person and an asset to humanity. If you admire someone because of their material possessions or because they have reached a status that you covet then this admiration is negative and is fueled by jealousy instead. Make sure that the reason you admire someone is because of their inner attributes and not the things that they own or the youth that they represent. As you age it becomes easier to be jealous of the beauty that youth offers, but this is offset by the knowledge that you have gained in your life. Admiration for the selfless devotion that Mother Theresa showed in Calcutta to the poor and less fortunate is honorable, while admiration for a sports car or mansion is not.
