Don't look for someone who will solve all your problems.  Look for someone who won't let you face them alone, meaning whenever relating with people, choose someone who will always be there for you in every situation.

Friendship is a beautiful phase of life and also the hardest thing in the world to explain. It can't be learned in educational institutions, but if you haven’t learned the meaning of friendship, you haven't learned anything. You do not call people your friends until they have defended you in your absence. A friend should be someone that will tell you that they can’t promise to fix all your problems, but they can promise to show you the way out so that you won’t have to face them alone. Depending on the circumstances, having someone who will assist you in making your life easier rather than hard can be paramount. Although it is quite impossible to solve all your problems by yourself, even if you can do that, it might not be as easy compared to when someone assists you.

Finding someone who will show you ways to solve your problems and not let you face them alone provides you a learning opportunity. A deeper perspective of a strong character will provide a lasting and quality friendship. It can also lead to a more fulfilling relationship with the person, including the one you have with yourself.
