The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies.

The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies. Meaning that it is normal for us to expect the worse from an enemy but never from a loved one. When an enemy goes out of his or her way to hurt you, it may not come as a surprise to you because the person was just doing exactly what is expected of him or her.

We all have this entitlement mentality whenever we are with our loved ones. We feel that they owe us love, care, and protection. If a loved one goes on to do the opposite, we see it as betrayal and it hurts a whole lot.

To avoid the feeling of being betrayed, we should accept the fact that the heart of a man is deep; you can't see all its content. So, whatever happens between you and your family and friends, expect the good, the bad, and the ugly from them. There will be a time when their emotions may be just too high that they end up spilling the negative content of their heart to your disadvantage. Numb your entitlement mentality and expect less from your loved ones, and you won't feel betrayed easily.
