A Bar Mitzvah is a religious ceremony for Jewish boys when they turn 13 years old and come of age. After this event the boy is considered a man, and he has the same responsibilities as an adult. This includes both moral and ethic responsibilities in the community, and the boy is held accountable for his decisions and actions. Part of a Bar Mitzvah is the religious ceremony, and there is usually a celebration party that follows where the boy is given gifts and congratulated.
