Today will never come again. Be a blessing. Be a friend. Encourage someone. Take time to care. Let your words heal, not wound. This means that each day is a new chance to be an answer to someone's prayer. This is important because the light you show to just one person can light up nations and generations.
For a start, be intentional with just one person. A hug. A text. A picture. A cookie. A link. Being there when you are needed. Be present; let your presence be felt, not just seen. Give love freely. Know that you don't always need an opportunity to show love to people. And sometimes you might not see someone is hurting until you actually look closely. Other times, you just need to use words sincere and thoughtful. You never know how far your words and actions will go. Your care might be his or her last hope for survival. At times a smile will do. And if you can't take away their pain, you can stay with them with their palms clasped in yours.
Your effect may feel temporary, but trust me, it's an effect anyway. So don't down play your chance to make someone's day better. Know that there's always something you are capable of doing to brighten someone's day.
