Life is much too short to have to deal with people that make your time difficult, and the relationships that you make are all that you will leave behind. Just know that you should spend time with people who make you happy, not those you have to impress. Your circle of friends should be people that care for you no matter what, and when you are around people you have to impress you can never be yourself. Whenever you are worried about everyone else's opinion you are sacrificing part of yourself. When you give away part of yourself you are not living up to your potential happiness. This makes your life far more meaningless than it ever needs to be, and that is something that will make you settle for the rest of your life. So, if you start to really notice the people that you have around you, and focus on those that are most important, then you will have the best version of your life.

Those people that you impress do not care about what you have in your core, and they are only going to notice what you can do for them or how you can live up to their standards. These fair weather friends will also only be around as long as you are doing exactly what they want you to do in their lives. These people will make you believe that you are valuable, and will turn on you the minute that you aren't exceeding their expectations. As long as you pay attention to the people in your life, and surround yourself with those people that are there for you at your worst you will never have to deal with fake friends. Relationships are what define your life, and you need to make sure that you are picky about those that you let surround you and impact your future.
