Most of us would agree that while growing up, those we share the same blood with are considered as family. However, later in life we get to discover that blood-related takes sides instead of sticking together as a family. Have you ever noticed someone who you rarely see in the family? Will you refer to that person as a family? The mistake people make is defining family based on blood. Not every blood-relative will want to support or see your progress in life. Some only care about themselves without checking up on others. To be honest, loyalty makes a family. We meet some people and build a strong circle with them yet they sacrifice or do things family from childhood cannot do, without expecting anything in return.
The fact that blood makes a person related to others doesn’t mean one will be treated like family. The real definition of family is those who extend helping hands instead of breaking you apart. They motivate you to achieve goals and not to lower your self-esteem. Finally, you are connected by blood with relatives does not mean love, care, or loyalty to you. But those who are close and always there, are the true family
