In life it is important to be a good person, making an effort to help others and live life according to principles that are positive and uplifting. This world is tough enough as it is and if everyone made an effort to be a good person the world would be a better place. Humility is also a virtue as well and it should be something that you practice. If you spend your time helping others and alleviating suffering whenever possible then there is no need to prove how good of a person you are. This is a waste of time when you could be doing something more productive instead. If you are truly a good person you do not need others to praise you for it, your reward comes from inside and not from what others think or say.

Instead of spending your time trying to prove that you are a good person to others you should focus on how you can make the world or the lives of other people better in some way. If you are concerned that others know you are a good person then you may not be as good of a person as you think you are because you are too focused on how others perceive you instead of being focused on helping out and having a positive influence. The next time you see an opportunity to help out or to make a positive change in the world don't worry about whether everyone else will find out about your good deed. The act of being good and the sense of fulfillment that you get from doing the right thing should be the only reward that you need.
