I taught you everything you know but not everything I KNOW.
Although many others have paraphrased, or even taken credit for, this quote, it actually appears in the 1928 silent film, The Mysterious Woman starring Greta Garbo. In that film she plays a Russian spy who is caught by her master General Boris Alexandroff, Chief of Russian Military Intelligence, conspiring with her lover, a French army officer. General Alexandroff says to Tania (Garbo), " I taught you all you know, Tania - - but I didn't teach you all I KNOW." As Yogi would say, you could look it up. It's there in black and white. Everyone after 1928 who said it or claims ownership of it is just not telling the truth.
