Remember to take the time to love your parents, making an effort to go and see them frequently when you can. We are usually so busy growing up that we often forget that they are also growing old. One day you will look back at the present with regrets, wishing that you had realized that the time you have with your parents was limited. Before you know it the parents who nurtured and cared for you will be elderly and the time that you spend with them may not have the same quality. Do not wait until this happens because you will end up with sadness and regret over the missed opportunities that you did not take advantage of.
Your life may seem incredibly busy, with little time left over for extras. Your parents are not extras though, these are the individual who have taken care of you your entire life. Your parents deserve for you to make the effort to carve time out for them no matter how busy your schedule may seem. Once your parents are gone you will be free from this responsibility, but while they are still living you owe it to them to stop by, spend some time with them, or even arrange for family outings that include your parents. These individuals can be invaluable sources of advice and support. As your parents age they may start to experience mental and physical difficulties, making them seem more childlike as they get older. Your parents always did their best and made the effort when you were growing up, now is the time that the tables are reversed. If you wait too long they will be gone, and you will truly be an orphan without their love, advice, and support.
